This is so true!🙌 Sometimes we give entirely too much time & attention to the wrong things, people and even problems. Not only is it energy draining but in some cases it can be emotionally draining too. Over the past few months, I’ve been on a mission to regain my sense of “self-peace” back & along the way, I have discovered that there is truly power in loving people from a distance. As a result of putting that back into action, I’ve noticed that I’m not nearly as stressed anymore and I feel free more than ever now to actually focus on my own dreams, goals and other things I’m in the process of trying to accomplish. Loving people from a distance doesn’t mean that you don’t still love & care about them or support them. Loving from a distance doesn’t mean you’re cutting people completely out of your life either. It just simply means that you’re giving them the space and time to get their minds right before you let them back into your life. Some people can be so toxic and not only people but also meaningless things period. I’ve said it before, I’ll say it again.. if you’re not careful, people will drive you crazy! They will stress you out & have you drained over things that really don’t have anything to do with you.
I’m more protective over my energy now! I’m protective over everything now actually when it comes to myself lol but in all seriousness, I’ve gotten to where if it doesn’t concern me, if it doesn’t contribute to reaching my goals/success or if it doesn’t benefit my growth in any kind of way.. I don’t too much fool with it anymore. It’s not that I’m acting funny; I’ve just realized that it’s a waste of time for me to be getting caught up in everybody else’s business and other unnecessary things that don’t really require my attention. Sometimes you have to back away from certain conversations and just remember “You’ve got stuff to do.” More action, less talk. Remember, YOU get to make daily decisions about who and what deserves access to you!! Don’t ever forget that. No one has to understand your positive changes. Do what’s best for you. 💞
“Spend More Time With Jesus”
This is just something that I need to do a better job at period. Sometimes, I’ll do good reading my bible and spending some time in prayer everyday and then after a while.. I get very inconsistent with it. I don’t know why but I need to improve my consistency. I’m going to work on spending time with God around the exact same time EVERYDAY and not just when I feel like it. I believe if I can find balance with that, I’ll do better.
“Drink More Water!”
Okay, so this one.. I might struggle with! As much as I LOVEEE my Sprites and slushes from Sonic, I know I need to give them a rest. Sometimes I like water and sometimes I don’t. Even though I know water is healthy.. I still have a love/hate relationship with it. However, there are many benefits to drinking water!! It increases energy & relieves fatigue, promotes weight loss, flushes out toxins, improves skin complexion, boosts immune system and prevents cramps and sprains. So with that being said, I’m going to do better!! So far, I’ve gotten in the habit of drinking water all day while I’m at work. I wait to drink everything else later in the evening when I’m eating dinner. I’m not sure if that defeats the purpose or not but it’s a start!
“Work on Shutting Down Conversations That Aim To Tear Down Other People”
Uh ohh.. this is a big one!! It is so easy to get caught up in conversations of gossip. It’s easy to fall into the trap of talking about negative things, problems, disappointments and struggles, especially when it’s about someone else. Don’t act like you’re not guilty of it. We’ve all done it. Whether it’s you that starts the conversation or someone else.. it is so easy to get on the subject of other people’s business instead of focusing on the POSITIVE things that they have going on or solutions for their problems. WE gotta do better. Yes, I’m talking about me too! We gotta work on speaking more words of encouragement that will build people up and make them feel better instead of tearing them down. We get many opportunities everyday to put this into practice, but it requires real discipline and determination.
Yes I know, I didn’t set A LOT of goals.. but that’s just how I am. I like to set small realistic goals for myself and work on reaching them first before I set way too many just to end up feeling unaccomplished. Seriously, you know you have no importance about yourself or your life whatsoever when the only thing you do is look for drama on social media & indulge in it all day everyday!
Get some real life goals about yourself. Find something to do! Read/Write a book. Go back to school. Start your own business. Create a vision board & do something each day to work towards actually achieving those goals. Go make some money! Figure out what your good at & turn them into side hustles for extra cash! (legal of course) Shoot, become a blogger! Get active in your community and come up with different ways to promote positivity. Thats always needed!!
There is so much more out here for you to do besides wasting time & energy on nonsense. Fighting and arguing over the same stuff day in & day out has to eventually get tiresome and old. Focus on using all of that energy towards doing something positive otherwise you wont get very far in life. You will indeed always remain right where you are. Do better, much better. 💜
