It’s Not What You Say, But It’s How You Say It ..

You have to be careful how you say things to people and what you do to them. You can mean well, but the way you approach the individual will determine their response. In fact, you could be telling the complete truth, but people will not receive you well if you don’t know how to talk to them. It’s not what you say, it’s how you say it. Tone of voice matters. Always try to remember that.

I hope you guys have a lovely weekend !!

Appreciating Good, Difficult, Dramatic and Horrible People ..

Life doesn’t always introduce you to the people you want to meet.

Sometimes, life puts you in touch with people you need to meet to help you, to hurt you, to leave you, to love you, and to gradually strengthen you into the person you were meant to become. Every single person you meet has something so valuable to teach you. Whether they’re testing you, using you, bringing out the best in you, or the worst .. they will all teach you something about yourself.

The road to self-discovery requires help from others! Both positive and negative relationships teach you valuable lessons. It’s kind of how you learn and become a better individual. No relationship or friendship is ever a waste of time, therefore, you should never regret the people in your past. The wrong ones teach you lessons that will prepare you for the right ones coming!!

Appreciate them.

The Most Important Thing I’ve Learned This Month

As the month of April comes to an end, I can’t help but to sit here and reflect on how this month has really been for me. Despite its downs, everything I’ve experienced has still been a blessing and also taught me one very important lesson:

There are some battles you just have to fight in prayer.

Often times, we think that it’s necessary or better to retaliate or immediately react when someone offends us but when I say “not everything needs or deserves a reaction” that is exactly what I mean. It’s so much easier to say that than it is to just live by it but this month, God allowed me to experience something that was very hurtful and for the first time in my life, I was obedient to His Voice and did not react.

To be a little more specific without going into much detail, I dealt with a racial issue in a way that I have never experienced before in my entire life and it was so disheartening. And as frustrated as I was with the situation, I just kept feeling like I needed to PRAY about it instead of showing my whole and complete tail. It takes a lot to get me out character these days but this right here had me ready to put my paws on somebody! It is so unfair for people to be treated differently due to the color of their skin and it’s not right for certain rules to only apply to certain people due to the color of their skin!

Even though I was feeling how I was feeling and as upset as I was I still kept hearing in my heart that I just needed to pray…stay calm and just pray… so that’s what I did! I prayed and I prayed and I kept praying until I felt like I had sincerely turned the situation over to God. I knew I had to let God fight this one for me because the reaction I had in mind wasn’t going to get me anywhere. Literally. Sometimes, you just gotta step back and let God get them. You have to really trust the fact that He is moving on your behalf, turning the tables in your favor and dealing with the hearts of those who hurt you. And believe me, God has His way of dealing with folks on the level He sees fit for them to be dealt on!! Some people call it Karma. I’ve learned to see it as either “God Ordained or God Allowed”. What you sow is what you will reap period!

One thing is sure though, God may not get you out of a situation, but He will truly give you the strength to get through it. This was not a fun experience. In fact, it was more of a learning and growing thing for me and I thank God for it! Between consistent prayers, lots of talks with God, and keeping a cool head with a clean heart .. I have seen God moving, working behind the scenes of my life and this whole situation.. I’ve watched the tables turn and I’m strongly confident in the fact that He’s not done yet!! In those moments of victory, God reminded me that some battles are simply not my responsibility to fight especially when He just intended for me to watch. Let me tell you something -When God decides to bless you, He will cause situations to come together in YOUR favor.. no matter what other people try to do!! What the enemy meant for evil, God meant it for good and for that alone I am forever grateful!!

All of this turned out to be such a valuable life lesson to me. I now know and see the TRUE benefits of just letting God do the fighting. The battle is always won when you let Him handle it! So with that being said, it was nice to know April 2018 but now I am looking forward to May !!

Hope you all have a blessed day!

Everything You Go Through Can TEACH You Something..

“There’s nothing that life can throw at you that does not have the potential to make you better.” -Derron E. Short

“Anything that annoys you is teaching you patience. Anyone who abandons you is teaching you how to stand on your own two feet. Anything that angers you is teaching you forgiveness and compassion. Anything that has power over you is teaching you how to take your power back. Anything you hate is teaching you unconditional love. Anything you fear is teaching you courage to overcome your fear. Anything you can’t control is teaching you how to let it go.”( -unknown)
See so you can really learn from any and everything that you go through; It just all depends on your perspective! So whatever you go through this week, keep the words above in somewhere in the back of your head. It might be disheartening and it might hurt but at the end of the day.. it will make you better if you let it.
I love you – I hope you have a G R E A T week – and I hope this post helps you get off to a great positive start !!💛

26 Things I’ve Learned So Far in My 26th Year 💖💛

  1. Not everyone is your friend. Some people want to see how you do it & some just want a front row seat to watch your struggle.👀👀
  2. Not everyone has your best interest at heart, family members included.
  3. No support is BETTER than fake support.
  4. The reality of not being able to help everybody.
  5. It’s OKAY to be selective with what you want to do and who you spend your time with.
  6. It’s not necessary to react to everything. There’s power in silence and sometimes the best revenge is to let go and literally move on.
  7. God’s timing is always PERFECT. No matter how aggravated I get, I’m not going to rush God. He’s not getting in a hurry for me. He makes His moves whenever He knows I’m ready. So anything I’m waiting for.. I’ve learned to wait well!
  8. The older I get, the more I realize how much arguing, yelling and getting the last word in with people is a complete WASTE of time.
  9. I can’t vibe with people who don’t have the same mindset as me & that’s O K A Y too!! The focus is different because the dream is bigger. I’m working towards the betterment of my future career & financially wise so I can live comfortably later meanwhile you’re worried about becoming popular on social media.🤷‍♀️
  10. Faith moves are big moves. They aren’t comfortable but they are necessary for the kind of life I keep praying for.
  11. Purpose doesn’t entertain drama.
  12. Being uncomfortable is God’s way of getting your attention. Comfort never grew anyone.
  13. I’ve learned to share my dreams with people who actually want to see me succeed. There are some real dream killers & haters out there.
  14. If you don’t invest you, you’ll soon find that no one else will either!
  15. I’ve learned to just accept and appreciate the process. Whatever I go through, I know God will get me through. The blessing is already ready! Romans 8:28 “All things work together for the good of those who love Him and who are called according to His purpose.”
  16. Being happy is really a personal thing & it really has nothing to do with anyone else.
  17. I’ve learned how to love me more! Self Love is the BEST LOVE. 💖💛
  18. It’s so important to be obedient to God. It’s important critical to move & speak when He tells you to do so.. you never know who’s breakthrough is attached to your obedience.
  19. When you want different, you move different.
  20. Regardless of what’s going on, I’ve learned to always still smile and give thanks. Not everyone needs to know my struggle.
  21. Everything happening in my life is either “God Allowed” or “God Ordained” .. nothing just happens for no reason. There’s purpose behind everything.
  22. I’ve truly learned to walk away from things and people that no longer serve me growth. I don’t threaten to walk away anymore. I literally just do it!
  23. There’s soooo much power in being positive and on top of that.. it’s contagious!!
  24. Instead of retaliating, I’ve learned how to pray for my enemies more. I don’t know about that meaning that I’ve mastered the art of forgiveness but I do know that it’s a true sign of growth for me!
  25. One of my goals for this month was to stay away from conversations that aimed to tear other people down and it’s funny because I thought this would be a challenge for me but honestly it’s just something that I’ve been naturally doing for the past 3 months. Gossiping is a “hater” activity and so is listening to it. It’s so easy to get sucked into conversations like that but when you’re really focused and working on living your own dream, you don’t have time to be a hater. You don’t have time for none of that.
  26. I’ve learned & still learning how to help people without hurting myself in the process. That’s one of those important parts of self-care that I’ve abandoned for a while now. Glad I’m improving! 🙂

I won’t be 27 years old until September 11th but I wanted to share with you guys some of the things that Chapter 26 has taught me so far!! Lots of life lessons as you can see 🙂
