5 EASY QUICK WAYS TO RELIEVE STRESS!

Image result for stress awareness month

In Honor of April being Stress Awareness Month, I thought it would be a good time to share some of my most F A V O R I T E and quickest ways to reduce stress 💙

  • GET OFF SOCIAL MEDIA!!

The internet is an unsafe place for the heart. Please know when to log off. Find you some people to spend quality time with. Many of your deliverances will come on several levels from several issues, when you stop scrolling so much..

  • BE A BLESSING TO SOMEONE ELSE !!

Thinking about someone else and giving back to them is a great way to make a little impact in their life, but also amazing for relieving stress!! Sometimes, your biggest test is in how you treat other people while you’re fighting your own personal battles and sometimes.. your breakthrough is depending on your {o b e d i e n c e} of being a blessing to the next person!!

  • EXERCISE!!

This one is almost cliche but exercising really does help relieve stress!! I don’t know what it is about going to the gym, walking the trail at the park, doing zumba, doing an “insanity” workout video or yoga that gets people’s stressful circumstances off their mind but it works; gets the job done every single time!

  • VENT ON PAPER!!

I LOVE LOVE LOVE being able to express myself through writing! Usually when I’m stressed, the emotion of anger is not too far from me.. if it’s not already there and to be able to put my thoughts on paper somewhat frees my mind in its own little way. Sometimes I’m venting through my writing and sometimes I’m just writing out plans and what my next move will be! Writing is like therapy. For me, writing is such a strong form of therapy that when I’m done I no longer feel the need to verbally vent to anyone.. unless it’s my Husband because I will absolutely talk his head off. But seriously, writing is an excellent way to relieve stress. I would say journaling but I don’t want you to take it too serious and think it’s necessary for you to actually have a journal. You can grab a raggedy notebook and write your heart away in it! You just need something that you can use to get all of that anger and stress out on.

  • CLEANING!!

Okay, this is something else that I do not only when I’m stressed but when I’m pissed too! For one thing, I’m not a neat freak. I’m kind of far off from it actually. I don’t clean as often as I should. I’m not nasty, but I’m not like “OCD” either. (obsessive-compulsive disorder) I’m not gonna freak out if there’s four dishes sitting in the sink. I’ll add like seven more of ’em before I start loading the dishwasher. 😂😂🤣 My house stays clean enough to where if somebody decided to surprise me with an unannounced visit.. it’s decent enough!! The only thing they might see is a load of clean laundry chilling in the recliner 🤷‍♀️ Anyways, cleaning helps somewhat relieve my stress. I honestly don’t know how. I guess the fact that it keeps me busy, keeps me distracted from going into stress overload! By the time I’m done cleaning.. just about every room in my house is spotless, the laundry is completely done and when it’s all said and done.. I’m just tired. I am literally ready for a shower and my bed. That’s it. Whatever was bothering me at that moment doesn’t bother me anymore until the next day because I’ll be too tired to put any energy into even thinking about it! So yeah.. when you’re feeling stressed, do some cleaning! I promise there’s a healing in it! It’s a weird one but it’s there!

There are several ways to reduce stress but again these are my top 5 favorites! What are some things you to do reduce your own personal stress?

The Most IMPORTANT Thing You Can Learn From Your Biggest Mistake..

2d84166ff114f2ba77160d97c7931021.jpg

What’s the one thing you can learn from your biggest mistake??

Well, first of all it was a mistake; not a life sentence. You don’t have to spend the rest of your life crucifying yourself over your past or current mistakes. You should never allow yourself to live in bondage of your hurtful thoughts or other people’s hurtful words. Mistakes will always be made. The key is to not repeat those same mistakes over and over again. Learn from them and move on. Sometimes, that’s easier said than done so the very first thing you really need to do is forgive yourself. So many of us ask God for forgiveness and indeed HE DOES Forgive us. When you truly repent and say “I’m sorry” in your heart to God.. He lets that thing go! He doesn’t hold it over your head. “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.” (2 Corinthians 12:9) So really God is giving us a clean slate each time to start all over again but sometimes we miss that because we’re too busy beating ourselves up.

If you have personally offended someone or hurt them then make sure you do your part in taking ownership for the mistake and apologizing then let God take it from there. You can’t force people to forgive you and you most certainly can’t rush them but you can begin the road to recovery by first forgiving yourself. “Release the need to replay a negative situation over and over again in your head. Don’t become hostage to your past by always renewing and reliving your mistakes. Don’t remind yourself of should’ve, could’ve and would’ve. Just release and let it go. Move on.” -Les Brown

A good way to actually start moving on after you’ve forgiven yourself is to practice the action of reframing from negative” self-talk. Seriously, you will never speak to anyone else as much as you speak to yourself in your own head.. so BE NICE!! Think happy thoughts and speak positive words. Y’all have heard me say this before, there is so much power in the words you speak!! “It is through your words, your thoughts, your actions, and your beliefs that you can possibly be living in bondage because of how you choose to punish yourself due to a mistake you’ve made. If you can forgive yourself and free yourself from your own burden and mistakes then this how you can get back to loving yourself again!!” -Tatiana Jerome

Forgive yourself. You are always allowed to start over and show up for yourself in the best way.❤

Love you,

-Jessica

20180329_222242.jpg

“Your struggle will transform into your testimony. It’s only temporary. Thank God for it. Never wish your struggles away, for that is the womb in which your blessings are formed and ready to be birthed. Your struggle is the heart of the blessing. Yes the struggle is real but so is God’s favor. Now that is what makes your blessing flawless!” -Tatiana Jerome 💛

So whoever you are, wherever you are.. be encouraged. I PROMISE You, Greater IS Coming! I need you to get that in your spirit. Get it deep down in there! What’s to come is still {.BETTER.} than what’s already been. I know it’s hard right now and your faith is struggling a little bit and that’s okay! You’re human. I’m just here to remind you that you can & you will get through this. God is always building you even when it feels like He’s breaking you. There’s purpose behind everything you go through. Believe that!🙌 God is always doing a trillion things in your life & you may only be aware of three of them. So chin up, babe! Your best days are ahead of you. Keep going because your miracle is not behind you! God’s power is not intimidated by your circumstances and where you come from does not determine where God plans to take you!!💕

**sending lots of love, hugs & positive vibes your way!**

HAPPY FRI-YAY

Happy to be a Part of Blogosphere!

20180320_1611417818234226282412901.jpg

I ultimately started this blog to inspire, promote positivity, and help other people with their personal struggles by sharing some of my own and how I overcame them. I’m not a big fan of people being in my business but I do believe in being transparent. You can’t fully help someone else with what they’re going through if you aren’t willing to share your “been through”. I love the person I am today because it took a lot of love and pain to get here. I’m much stronger and even though there’s always constant room for improvement & growth within myself, I still desire to help others along the way as much as I can. I’m an encourager. That’s just who I am, I can’t help it. I feel like that’s what God has created me to be. I’m for people bettering themselves, no matter who they are and where they are doing all they can to be all they can be.

I’m also looking to turn my blogging into another source of income. I’ve always took an interest in writing so why not get paid for it!?! haha. No seriously, writing has always been a hobby that’s stuck with me. It’s always been such an outlet for me. For a long time, it was how I vented. I remember calling them my “Letters to God”. I used to write until I felt better. Just cry and write. I had so many journals and notebooks, it was ridiculous, but it was how I expressed myself and how I dealt with so much anger and pain.

I finally stopped writing so much after I moved out of my mom’s house, started college & had my first child. Life became somewhat easier to emotionally deal with. I think being in a different environment played a big role and on top of the fact that God gave me RJ.. my very own personal little mini me.. someone that I could love and who would love me back unconditionally regardless of how flawed I was. Regardless of what I had been through and how it effected me, even in times when I didn’t love myself… that baby loved me beyond measures and still does. Then two years later came along another little mini me! Being a mom of two, I definitely didn’t have time to write & that’s okay! Having them seemed to fill that void of emptiness I had. I wouldn’t trade them for nothing. I love my kids. They are my strength and the reason why I keep my chin up during some of my darkest moments. God knew what He was doing when He gave me them and for that alone I will forever be grateful.

Anyways, one random day sometime late last year, I was sitting on the couch scrolling through Pinterest looking for crafty ideas and I ending up coming across different pins that promoted “blogging ideas, blogging topics, blogging tips for beginners & etc” . Me being the curious person that I am, I clicked on them and after reading into it a little bit I instantly became interested! It’s like it sparked my desire to write all over again! I thought about the idea of blogging and studied it for a whole month before I actually began. I was excited yet so nervous because this time I would be writing and expressing myself to people all over this world and not just in private. I felt like it would be a great opportunity to not only reach out and encourage others but to also tell the story of the mountains I’ve had to climb. Someone once said, “Your words could become a page in someone else’s survival guide.” It’s possible for other people to find healing in your wounds. Sometimes, your greatest life messages and your most effective ministry will come out of your deepest hurts…

So with that being said, I appreciate you guys taking the time to read this post and several of my other ones and I hope you continue to tune in with me!!

xoxo, jessica
