5 Bad Habits That Ruin Your Happiness.

“The ability to love yourself is beautiful. When you really “love” yourself, you simply refrain from doing whatever comes in your path of you and your happiness. Self love shouldn’t be confused with self obsession though. Self love doesn’t mean that you value someone less than you but it simply implies you value yourself as much as you value others. Self love means you don’t allow anything to tamper with your peace of mind; self love means you don’t allow anyone to make you feel miserable; self love means you strive to make a better you everyday, every moment.” -Sai Tripathy Self love means you can be your own best friend and notΒ need other people around. Self love is hard but it’s rewarding when you can still build yourself up in times when it feels like your world is falling apart.Β Self Love is the key to happiness.Β

The more you complain, the unhappier you will be. When you’re constantly focusing on the negative perspective of situations and things, it’ll cost you your happiness and sometimes even cause you to be depressed. {G r a t i t u d e} will take you a long way in life! Be thankful for what you do have. Be thankful for where you are in your journey even if it’s not where you want to be right now. Every season serves a purpose. So whatever you’re going through or whatever you’re seeing from a negative perspective right now.. just remember that it’s all shaping and molding you into the person God intends for you to be. See it as an opportunity for growth within yourself and learn from it. When you choose to focus only on the bad things, you are really setting yourself up for never being content or happy. Practice Gratitude everyday!

Hanging with the wrong folks can mess you up and by wrong, I mean negative! Hanging with negative people has more of an impact on your life than you think. Make sure you connect with people who are going to build you up. If the people in your circle are intimidated when you make positive life changes politely ask them to go stand in the circle over there. If the people in your circle keep punching you in your self-esteem kindly ask them to go stand in the next circle!! Surround yourself with people who make you happy.. people who make you laugh and help you when you’re need. Make sure the people in your corner genuinely care and support you. They are the ones worth keeping in your life! Just like negative people can have an impact on your happiness, positive people can too! It’s all up to you πŸ™‚ Be wise and be picky about the folks you choose to run with!!Β

Some people are unhappy simply because they’re not happy with their outer appearance. Can I say something though? You have always been beautiful but if you are not satisfied with the way you look.. then do something about it! πŸ™‚ Let’s talk about weight since that’s what most people have a problem with – It won’t get better by chance. It gets better by change. Whether you aspire to lose weight or gain it, find a diet that works for you a stick by it. Join a gym if necessary. Go walk the trail at your city park. Join yoga or zumba classes. Do whatever works and seems most fitting and fun for you. It will hurt. It will take time. It will require dedication. It will require willpower.Β You will need to make healthy decisions.Β It requires sacrifice. You will need to push your body to its max. There will be temptation but I promise when you reach your goal, it will all be worth it !!Β

One thing that will prevent you from happiness for sure is comparing yourself to other people. Don’t compare your life to others. That alone has the potential to make you miserable. Don’t do that. Your life is about breaking your own limits and outgrowing yourself to live your best life. You are not in competition with anyone else. Plan to outdo the person you were yesterday, not other people. Be who God created YOU to be, not who He created them to be.Β

Every morning you have a new opportunity to become a happier version of yourself. Don’t let bad habits ruin or block your happiness!!Β

  2. I think this is such a great post to read on a Monday , it reminds you that you need to keep yourself happy as well as others, another thing I’ve noticed that keeps me happy is not judging people! I know it sounds so odd but I’ve finally been growing out of the habit of seeing someone and immediately thinking of something judgmental, now when I see someone I always notice atleast one thing I really enjoy about that person! Putting positive energy out in the open is so important for my happiness personally 😊 I love this post, happy Monday Jessica !! ✨

  5. I love the way you write!! I feel like you nailed a large proportion of the reasons why people find it so difficult to reconnect with self-love and therefore happiness. I feel like it is hard to experience deep happiness without being content within yourself. Self-love is a difficult concept to tackle and you’ve done well πŸ™‚
